Important Things to Prepare Before your Gili-T Trip!
- Gili Trawangan is one of the hotspots for tourists, so you gotta make sure that accommodation is secured because hotels and resorts in the island tend to get fully booked quickly.
- Secure travel insurance before you go, Gili T is a safe island, however it’s better to be safe than sorry.
- There are ZERO motorized bikes on the island, you can only travel by foot and bicycle – Horse carts or cidomo are available, but we don’t recommend this mode of transport – most of the horses are undernourished and not taken care of properly.
- Gili T is located in Lombok, a predominantly Muslim island and they are still preserving their conservative values — therefore after you finish hanging out at the beach club or anywhere while wearing your swimwear, always change to casual clothes before you return to town.
- Although sunscreen is always available on Gili T, it's strongly recommended for you to bring reef-safe sunscreen. This ensures that you can have maximum coverage from the sun's harsh rays while also safeguarding the marine environment.
- Always carry cash, there’s only a few ATMs available on the island.
